What the site is

The site is a free reference tool that converts amounts between years using published Consumer Price Index data, as set out on the methodology page. It is provided for informational and educational purposes.

Not financial advice

Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Inflation figures are historical measurements of a general price index, not a prediction, and the "Future value" projection is an assumption you supply, not a forecast. Decisions based on this site's output are made at your own risk; consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.

Accuracy of data

Figures are derived from third-party Consumer Price Index data (see the methodology page for the source and formulas). We take reasonable care to keep the underlying dataset current and the calculations correct, but we make no warranty — express or implied — that the site is accurate, complete, or free of errors, and we are not liable for decisions made based on its output.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site — for example, by attempting to disrupt it, scraping it at a rate that degrades service for others, or using it for an unlawful purpose. You may link to and reference figures from this site, including for commercial or editorial use, with attribution appreciated but not required.

Third-party links

The site links to external sources, such as the World Bank, for reference. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or availability.
